PSYCH! I thought my water broke...

This morning I woke up with some pretty damp pants. A slight trickle lasted through the morning. With little/no contractions. I called my midwife after lunch. Went in. She swabbed me, ultrasounded me and checked me... I'm still high and tight (2 things I haven't been since high school... or maybe college.)
I am either peeing my pants or have a high leak... in either case, no baby. :
I am so sick of being pregnant. I had both my girls at 38 weeks. I am 39 weeks right now, and don't know how some of you mama's have carried babies to 40, 41, 42 weeks OR MORE!!! The mental agony is driving me insane. Seriously. INSANE!
I have been drinking RRL tea by the gallon, having more S.E.X. than when I am trying to conceive, eating Mexican so much that the waiters are actually learning english, inserting EP oil up the... yay, there... and have seriously debated castor oil... except that I really don't want to be crapping or barfing when I go into labor.
This baby needs to come out.

So the other night at like 2 am I woke up and thought my water had broken but as it turns out I just peed myself and was a sweaty mess. Then I changed my clothes and went back to bed only to wake up at 4 am in the exact same situation!

I am with you, soooo ready for this one to come out. I have tried to be very positive lately but I have broken down. The clock is ticking and my crotch is hurting. When will it end??!! :

I don't feel so bad now! I was walking at the mall on Sat night and my undies got soaked! If I have a contraction w/ a full bladder while upright, my underwear is doomed!

It happened again on sunday a couple times...enough that I started to 2nd guess myself and then nothing smelled like urine. So we went to the hospital, the swabbed me...not amniotic fluid. That's awesome, cause that means that I went to the hospital because i peed myself. Joy.

They have a "wheelchair" policy when you check into L&D, so while i was explaining reasons for coming in to the girl who was wheeling me up to L&D, she kinda chuckled at the "either my water broke, or I peed myself" comment. Chuckled like...you don't know the difference? I told her...You don't have kids, do you? ha. I said, Just wait.

With my daughter I went to the hospital once thinking my water broke, and it was mucous and.... um... semen from us having sex so much. LOL! Ah well... anyhow... I am VERY with you. I went to 41 weeks with my daughter and the thought of that happening again is driving me NUTS!

Oh, I can relate soooo much. I am so sick of this too. I thought for sure the last 48 hrs would be it, b/c of all the, "signs" I was getting that I was in labor. However, my body will do the whole contrax thing for like 4+ hrs and then they just pitter off. : We've tried the sex thing, etc., nothing is working. My other two arrived at 39 wks, I am basically at 39 wks and now I am freaking out that I will be one of those 40, or 41 weekers AND that it increases my chances of getting induced. I've never felt so uncomfortable toward the end of my pregnancies like I am with this one, so it's really throwing me for loop that the baby won't come out!

Loving this thread.

Yesterday, I had to pee really bad and I couldn't! I think the baby was squashing my urethra. He must really be out of room. I had to "push" to pee.

This is EXACTLY how I feel. I woke up crying today because I am still pregnant.
This baby is also playing the false labor game. Contractions for 2 hours about 5 mins apart that fizzle into... NOTHING! It would be more encouraging if they were actually doing something, like dilating and effacing me. But yesterday when the midwife checked me... yup, still high and tight. She said maybe 50% effaced... maybe... And 1 cm... Everyone keeps saying "He has to come out someday." Yay? Like when he's 18? cause that's what it feels like these days. I AM GOING TO BE PREGNANT FOR-EV-ERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
I used to want 4 children... now I'm thinking 3 might be enough.

Yep-- we're all in in together!! I think it is hilarious that I have to concentrate to pee...I have to pee every 15 minutes cause I'm drinking so much fluid and then I'm desperate to go and have to rutch around so that I can find a position that allows me to pee, baby is so on my urethra! My EDD is tomorrow and I am sooo ready, aren't we all. I'm going batty imagining that this might take 2 more weeks!!

I want to slap people who tell me that. On the one hand it's such a "duh" statement, but on the other hand, I've kind of stopped believing it. I feel like there's got to be a first time for everything right. Whenever someone says that to me, I've started saying, "your faith is touching" or just smiling sadly at them. My in-laws arrived last night, and this morning my MIL said, I really hoped it might be last night. I said, "yeah, welcome to our life for the last 3 weeks" (I'm 41 weeks pregnant as of tomorrow).

You know, all I have to say is thank God for this DDC. It is SO nice to be able to share these oh-so-personal moments w/ each other. It's SO much easier discussing it on here rather than in person! For some reason, even w/ good friends, it can be just awkward. Like the other day, my friend asked me if I had lost my mucous plug yet, and I think I did a double take. It just caught me off guard, yk? On here, I wouldn't have batted an eye.

Although I did mention to my fave group of mom friends about going to the hospital b/c I peed myself, they found it amusing, but I wonder if it was TMI for some of them? Hmmmm....

So yeah, I'm glad we can talk about this stuff here!

You know, with my last I had a small trickle every once in a while at 36 weeks and went into the hospital to get checked. They did a test and said it wasn't amniotic fluid and to go home. When I went to stand up more came out onto the sheet so I told the nurse when she came with my discharge papers. She took the sheet to test it and it was positive for amniotic fluid. So sometimes they miss it.

(I started contractions on my own a few hours later and my water broke more then.)

Yes, this happened with DD1 also. Went to the hospital, interns checked me and swabbed me for Amnionic fluid. Told me I was peeing my pants and sent me home... 2 days later at my appointment, doctor took 1 look up there and said, "Oh, your water DID break!" I was like DUH! I knew I wasn't just peeing myself. And they induced me.
Glad that I have a midwife now, so even if it is a high leak, she's not going to induce me. I H.A.T.E. pitocin... even more than being this pregnant.
