postpartum recovery

Is really more difficult the 3rd time around. Man, after the birth of my first child I was good to go pretty much immediately. After the second. . I think I took motrin once or twice but pretty much was back to "normal" after a few days. This time around. I feel ok, but still at 2 weeks pp I'm having occasional after birth pains. I don't know if it's because this is the third time around, that I'm older, that I'm overdoing it or some combination.

It's kind of a drag. I'd like to go and have fun, be active, enjoy the (*finally*) beautiful weather but just feel like drinking tea and curling up in bed.

... I hope you feel better VERY soon and ready to get out and about!

Awww! I hope you are feeling better soon. Take it easy and take care of yourself for now. You'll be up for more before long.

PP was very difficult for me with #2. I'm anticipating it won't be quick this time either and have lots of care lined up for dss so I can rest basically as much as I need.
I also got motherwort tincture which supposedly helps w/ after pains, which I completely dread!

Hope you heal up soon!

sorry you still don't feel great. I'm sure it won't be long now.

After pains are crazy! Had them for days this time with my 2nd. It's like being in labor with no endorphins and no reward. Yow!

I'm sorry. I have heard from other moms that the after pains get worse with subsequent children.

I hear you about wanting to curl up with tea. I felt okay, but clearly I was doing too much because my bleeding had stopped and then came back with a vengence after I did some household chores. So, I am in bed, trying to relax, drinking tea, etc. The after pains seemed to be much more severe with ds than they were with dd. I thought it was just that he nursed so much more frequently than dd ever did... Good luck on feeling better.

Yes, it's the darn after pains. I'll be doing well and then out of nowhere I get whammed with one. . and they are totally not pleasant. (to put it very mildly)

I'm having pretty powerful let-down this time around as well.
