Can I plant kale now for a fall harvest?

I'm new to growing kale and I'd like to put in some kale seeds for a fall harvest. Can I do that now? Are they the same seeds/varieties I would use for the early spring planting? I have seeds that never made it into the garden this spring. Will they sprout in the hot weather vs the early spring cool temps?
What else can I put in now for a fall harvest?
