Im sure that has more to do with uneducated people and foreign people. No matter what you still have religious exemption.

I don't immediately jump to conclusion of "omg they are coming to my house to force vaccines on my kids!".

If you look at the home visit policy of the Community Preventive Services Task Force, you can see plain and simple that this is not what it is being made out to be.

http://www.thecommunityguide.org/index.html

They already run vaccination clinics at schools; have those turned into mandatory forced vaccination? not that I know of.... so I don't see a valid slippery slope here...

Obama is doing just fine, IMO, but he has nothing to do with this as such home visits have been happening for a while, way before his presidency.

Has anyone considered that the republics have put that stuff in inorder to go along with the bill?

Right. Look at the bloody source. They're more right wing than frigging FOX - its like taking the word of Rush Limbaugh or Hannity & Colmes. Sorry, but I call that scare mongering in an attempt to kill the health care bill - cause' you know, it'd just be AWFUL if everyone in this country had access to health care!!

I find my heart beating a little faster at the fact that I agree with 99% of the voters on a poll posted on Militia Talk Radio --

(On the second question, I agreed with 8%, though.)

It's pretty sad when your product is so bad that people refuse to come get it, so you decide in your distorted reality that you are going to bring it to them. Desperation.

The Save the Worlders will do anything to extend their distorted reality onto others. Unfortunately for them the jig is up.

right there with you...although I was with the majority on #2 as well. I would do anything to prevent being forcibly injected (or them touvhing my baby)with an experimental vaccine. If that meant kicking some a__ , so be it. Although I'm a lover not a fighter so Id probably run and hide before it came to that.

A lot isnt private. Like my dd got salmonella, and we got a call from the health department.

ITA with Carrie. First of all, look at the source of this "news". Secondly, even if it was true that they would implement this plan, there is a very simple solution.

Don't open the door!

I think it's great. A lot of people would like to vaccinate but are afraid it would cost them too much time or money. It's all about access. Nobody's going to inject your babies with vaccines if you refuse. Just because something is made available to all doesn't mean it's going to be forced on all. Heavens to Betsy.

Oh, and FYI, people come to our house ALL THE TIME. To check the meter, to tell us about Jesus, to ask us about who lives here (census), to ask us to vote for them, to check to make sure our cats are spayed or registered as not spayed, etc.

So far, we haven't had any chips implanted. Though, if we could get a chip so that we could be found if we fell off a cliff while skiing, or if abducted, we probably wouldn't object to that, either! But we have passports and vaccination cards and security checks and so on. We're already zombies!

On #2 I voted no....lethal force means that you would be willing to kill someone. Honestly I would not be willing to kill. I would definitely fight, but not use lethal force in this situation.

But, like another poster said, I wouldn't open the door and invite anyone in. Would they break the door down to jab every single person with the vaccine? Not only do I doubt it, but it sounds ridiculous.

Maybe the hypothetical situation was a bit of a stretch, but a program for vaccination home visits just screams of a complete misunderstanding of why people don't vaccinate. Sure, there may be some who are too lazy, busy or whatever to take the child. But for the most part, I think those of us who don't vax have much better reasons other than, "Gee I just didn't remember/couldn't make it to the doctor's office".

The bill mentions "home visits," but that doesn't mean surprise visits from unwelcome public health officials to "non-compliant" families.

Because I birth out-of-hospital, I call and arrange for a home visit with a lady from the health department who conducts free newborn hearing screenings. This could be a similar scenario.

LOL Well said!

But on a serious note... OMG what a nightmare! (Those church people, meter readers, census takers and politicians are bad enough as it is!) ... and I DON'T open my door for any of them! Just the thought of someone out on my lawn with a syringe in hand gives me the chills.

Guess if they show up at my house they need an entire arsonel of vaccines. My twins are 3.5 and 100% vax free! :

Seriously though, that is scary. I think that is the general thought though "parents who don't vax are lazy or poor (un-educated) and therefore can't get vaxs so we will just bring them to your door" I think it is a final ditch effort on the gov'ts part to try to force more people to vax. Sad really.

ETA: another thought, can you imagine how pushy these people will be? I'm sure much more so then any doctor and they will probably tell people it's a "must". Those that don't know their rights will fall for it and their children will suffer b/c of it

I don't care what the impetus is behind things like this - they shouldn't ever be on the books. there is an implied slippery slope with all the small ways our civil liberties have been eroded over the past decade. these 'small' seemingly well-intentioned things can add up to one giant disaster down the line.

thanks to op for letting us know about this!
nothing wrong with vigilance.
