Will the swine flu vaccine be a live virus???

Hi all. Well I am just wondering if anyone knows for sure if the swine flu vaccine will be a live virus (as a flu mist) or if it will just be a vaccine injection with the dead virus... I am really hoping it will be the dead virus..I dont plan on getting this vaccine or for my kids to get it but DH is in the military (doesnt go out of the US though) and I am worried they may make him get it... I worry if he gets the flu mist with the live virus that he may spread it to our kids. Does anyone have any more info??? Thanks everyone

I have heard one of the manufacterers working on a vaccine is exploring this option. Not sure, but live virus vaccines have benefits.

A live virus vaccine would not contain any of the preservative that one made will a killed virus may have. I have heard that the preservative they are perhaps using in this vaccine is a very toxic one. Maybe the same one that was used in the SAnthrax vax that caused Gulf War syndrome....or am I getting confused with the adjuvant that they used? I know it was one or the other I read about.

No preservatives is good, but I am worried that the live virus will spread too easily.. I think I have read that they are using a strain from the 1918 flu pandemic that killed a huge amount of people... Now that cant be good to use that as a live virus... The whole thing just makes me so nervous...Hopefully soon we will find out exactly what will be in the vaccines...

They are planning on doing both... FluMist, and injections.

Preservative-free shots will be available for children and pregnant women, about 20 percent of the lots manufactured, Wortley said. They will either come in single-dose injections or as Flu Mist, the live virus that is squirted into the nose.

Adults will most likely get their shots from multi-dose vials which contain Thimerisol, including very low levels of mercury.
Like most here, I'm not accepting EITHER kind under ANY circumstances!
But if I had to pick one it would be the mist sprayed up the nose, that is, if I feel I'm healthy enough to be directly exposed to swine flu and be able to fight it off on my own. I don't trust either one but there's just something about injections that makes me feel the mist would have to be the lesser of the 2 evils.

So is it just me or are they planning to use FluMist to be sure Swine Flu gets off to a good start this fall and spreads quickly throughout the population and then use injections to poison the rest of the people?

I think I almost believe this!! I guess the Flu Mist would be a better alternative, but I do think it would definitely spread swine flu.. Does anyone know if the regular flu mist normally spreads the flu or if people getting that get sick from it??

i'm just wondering why on earth the government would actually want to spread swine flu??

i totally believe in conspiracies and that this is not out of question....

but i really am at a loss as to WHY? anyone want to impose their opinion and shed some light?

(maybe this belongs in another forum?)

I don't know if this is relevant info or not, but things that are inhaled through the nose bypass the blood brain barrier and I have to say the idea of a virus getting into my brain makes me additional twitchy about this.
