Does homemade sidewalk paint really wash off?

I was planning on making some homemade sidewalk paint (water, cornstarch, food colouring) for use on concrete and possibly decking. Does it really wash off? Easily? Or does it take a long time? Would it be possible to scrub it off with soap quickly? (I'm not worried about it for at my house, but using it on a local internet show down on our city's waterfront area.)

Thanks!

It fully came off of my sidewalk!

I don't know about the recipe that you're planning on using, but store-bought chalk has always come right off for me, with just a little spraying with the hose.

Awesome, thanks!

You know, we never washed it off. We just let the sun bleach it out.

Not easily.

It's not that it stains, it's just that it keeps moving, and never seems to rinse away. Plus, when it dries, you and the kids track it all over the place before you have a chance to clean it.

It was fun though!

Sounds like the same recipe as oobleck, but probably thinner. I've made oobleck tons of times with hundreds of kids and gotten it all over all kinds of materials and it always washes off easily. Actually, once it dries, it just turns to powder and brushes off most things. I imagine that would be true for sidewalks too.
