No way. We're trying for our first ... and, like some others have said, you couldn't pay me to get that vaccine.

ABsolutely NOT! Like one of the previous posters said, this is a SCAM! They gave it a fancy name and are trying to fool you into thinking this will turn out to be as deadly as 1918 if you do not take their vaccine! Don't fall for it! Use your brains people, until 36,000 people in the U.S. die from this (within 1 year), it is NO MORE deadly than regular seasonal flu!! So stop worrying! almost EVERY report I've read mentioned people with underlying health issues, there were only a couple that mentioned none, however, I believe they were just unknowns. A truly healthy person with functioning immune system will not die from swine flu. They ALL Had something that wasn't just right with them and that is why they were vulnerable.

call a spade a spade. that pregnant women are on this list is a clear sign they are experimenting.

this is an experiment.

I live in Australia and swine flu is very prevalent, in my area it is estimated that 50% of flu cases are swine flu. I had a flu last week (still have it) there is a 50% chance i had swine flu i guess. I would rather treat a flu then a potential reaction, the lack of testing and the speed this has been released is really worrying.

Also its really not that scary! not even as bad as most flus so far- wooo scary mild flu symptoms! So much of this is just the amount of media saturation. Anything becomes scary if you are bombarded with it.

All this to say, no way no how, i would go bush if there was forced vax for this.

Heck no! I'll have a 2.5 yr old and a 2 month old in October, and theres no way in heck any of us are getting that vax! The last time there was a "swine flu" vax back in the 70s it was eventually pulled cause' it was killing people!!

No way.

Jools - would you still feel okay with the vax if they approved it without safety trials? this is starting to happen now...http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/706132?src=rss

I don't get the regular flu vax since it makes me feel like shit. I don't see the point of vaxing against something that's not terribly serious.

It will end up being just like the regular flu shot -- immunized people catching it, thus blaming it on the unvaxed. But isn't that the routine for every vax? No, my family will not be getting this.

Self: Never had flu shot, never had flu.
Friend K: Never had flu shot, never had flu.
Friend R: Never had flu shot, never had flu.
Friend JA: Had flu shot once, because her daughter was on steroids or something? - turned out to be th one time she got the flu.

I hear similar stories from people I don't know as well. I will never get a flu shot.

: Every.single.person I know that had a flu shot got sick with the flu. Those that did not take it, never had the flu.

Have never taken the regular flu shot and definitely will not be taking this one!

I think I had the flu once when I was a child, but haven't had it as an adult. I've been vax'd a few times (about 10 years ago when my employer was offering it for free, before I knew any better), and never got the flu. I've also never gotten it since. I think for me it is more about hand washing and avoiding crowds than whether or not I'm vax'd.

The thing I worry about now is my DS, who can't keep his hands off his face. I'm afraid I might catch it from him!

Absolutely not, for our house. Just too untested and with too much history of serious problems with previous flu vaccines.

It's not that I don't think we have a chance of getting H1N1 in the fall, nor is it that I don't think it could be serious. But I'd rather take my chances with the flu than actually inject that vaccine into me or my family.

Agreed 100%

Nope. I'm not scared of this flu.
I would not do it as everything stands now, such a new vax and such a mild illness. I would consider it under other circumstances though.

Keeping the fever down is paramount.
I don't think that I will vax for H1N1. I'm undecided as to the regular flu shot as I tolerate it very well and did also (military) while preg with my 6 year old son, but I'm generally lazy with that stuff and tend to procrastinate.
To the bolded...actually supressing a fever is just about the worse thing one can do for the flu. There is plenty of medical research that shows that supressing fever prolongs the illness and can increase complications.

Oh, boy
Pro-vax, or not - I'm saying this super gently, but please please please don't blindly trust your doctor with anything. I can't even count on two hands how many times ours have been wrong about med combinations (one landed me in the emergency room), innacurate diagnosises (sp?) that were treated with meds that have made me sicker as a result of the innacuracy, bold-faced lied to about certain side effects of vaccines and meds, etc etc etc.
I've learned to research practically everything that comes out of our doctors' mouths.. they are human, afterall.

How about when doctors prescribed Thalidomide to thousands of pregnant women to help their morning sickness and babies were born with horrible birth defects? Or how doctors used to hook women up to IVs of alcohol to stop preterm labor?

I'm not necessarily anti-vax, but I definitely don't think people should trust their doctors one hundred percent, especially about something as new and untested as this vaccine which is why my family won't be getting it.

NO

Too bad Big Pharma hasn't learned their mistake from the vaccine from the 70's that just killed even more people

This vaccine is just about $$ since it's not been tested hardly and they are trying to give it to pregnant women.
