Got a crazy deal on luxury yarn, now what do I do with it?

Went to JoAnn's and they had $5-6 dollar yarns on clearance for 97 cents! This is yarn I never would have bought at regular price. Seriously. I know good yarn is worth it, I just can't justify buying it with our budget. Soooo, I've never had yarn this nice, lol! A lot of them are JoAnn brand, chunky wool, Pacaboo, ultra soft wool blends, wool with silk, chenille, Paton's Divine, also some Red Heart Zoomy and Light & Lofty and a few fun fur type yarns. I know yarns get a lot more pricey than these, but to me these are luxury! So what the heck do I make with all this yarn? I can crochet or knit. I'm not terribly experienced at knitting, but I want to get better anyway. I have a little dd who is 16 months old and I would love to make her some toys or clothes. I also have an older dd and a son. I've thought about making some hats and gloves for them? Idk? And did I mention I haven't actually made anything for myself, ever? Any ideas?

How about some yummy soft longies with the soft wool? With the fun fur you could make some Pygmy Puffs (look them up on ravelry), they are a quick fun way to use novelty yarns and I bet she would love throwing them around and playing with them.

Sod longies, knit for yourself. It's quality control, checking your workmanship because your kids only deserve the very best

I had taken about a two month break from knitting, but finding more than $250 worth of yarn for $50 has inspired me! Yeah, I think I will make at least one pair of longies for little dd. The pics on Ravelry of everyone's longies are just too beautiful! I have a stack of sweaters waiting to be recycled into winter pants for her, otherwise I'd be more inclined to do more. I think I will work on making everyone hats, myself included, yay! I already started a little sweater from the Twiggy pattern on Ravelry. Its going well and is so soft feeling. The arms call for 10.5 dpn, which I'm fairly certain I don't have. I'm pretty sure my needles can't magic loop. I have the Denise interchangeables and the cords are sorta thick. Isn't there a two needle method? Would that work for little sleeve making? I'll have to check on knittinghelp.com. The sweater will have cost less than $3 worth of yarn.

Oh, thanks a lot. As if I needed to add one more adorable thing to the list of what to knit for dd. (poor ds, patterns just aren't as cute for boys)

I see no reason why you couldn't a) go up or down one needle size for the sleeves. Yes, there will be a difference, depends on how picky you are if it matters or not. b) knit the flat on your circs and seam them to the body.

How old is your son? I'm going to attempt this playground shirt for my boy, it goes up to 6T. It's my first "real" knitting project, but I get too bored with something simple like a scarf *yawn*
