Blackboard paint and murals

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but does anyone here have any experience with blackboard paint? We'll be moving in to a newly renovated old house in a few months, and will be doing a lot of the finishing ourselves. I'm starting to go nuts with ideas for decorating DD's bedroom (she will be 2 in November).

So, does blackboard/chalkboard paint work well on drywall/sheetrock?

Does anyone have any tips about mural painting? I looked at some online sources for wallpaper murals and was shocked at the prices, so I'm pretty sure that if we do it at all, we'll do it ourselves. DH would like to paint the place up with scary monsters and creepy crawly things, I was thinking more along the lines of a tree, and maybe some flowers. I would also consider a nice wallpaper border -- I saw one I liked with Beatrix Potter characters, and I'm sure there are other nice ones.

We have a wall of black board paint in our house. It's really fun! It's not on drywall but as long as you prime the drywall first it should work great.

As far as the murals go,I would start with lots of sketches. And chalk can be a really good way to draw it on the wall.It rubs off with no problem and can be painted on top of quite easily.
