brown spots on green beans?

Can anyone help me with these green beans? ALL the beans have some spots, some more than others. The leaves are also lacy, but I've never been able to see anything on the plants...any ideas what this is and how to get rid of it? Are the beans ok to eat if I cut off the spots?

Thanks!

I think that may be from something eating the beans- not sure what is eating them though.

Yes, I've had that happen. I *think* it was Japanese beetles here, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I just pare away the spots and we eat the rest.

I sprayed mine with organic -icide stuff and that got rid of the beetles. Brand was "Safer", 3 in 1 stuff I got for an apple tree fungus primarily.
