Safety Trials for Swine Flu Vaccine? Who Needs 'Em!

Why deploy a vaccine that hasn't completed safety and efficacy testing? Because we already have a lot of experience with similar vaccines, concluded the NBSB flu vaccine working group...

Voting members of the NBSB include experts from universities, the pharmaceutical industry, and medical groups.

well, this certainly is not surprising. Remember, they want this done for SCHOOL. they know adult uptake on this vax will be low - especially without safety trials....they are really setting our kids up for the fall.

Well, of course. NO vaccines are tested for safety OR effectiveness.

yes, of course that's true - but to get away without even the pretense of going through the motions is a particularly bold move . they obviously feel safe enough to make up their own rules and be completely transparent about it.

Also, in this case, they are using adjuvants in the swine flu vaccine that have not previously been licensed for use in the US. I will be keeping an eye on how the CDC takes the recomendnation.

Maybe its not that they feel safe enough but that they just don't care. Vaccines = money and it will never be different. I appreciate you keeping updated!
