suddenly swollen fingers

should I be worried?

I mean, like literally overnight and it's not even very hot out (we had near record lows yesterday, as a matter of fact).

My ring has been loose and perfect this whole pregnancy and then this morning I went to shower and took it off and it was nearly impossible. Yikes!

I'm wondering if I should go out and take my bp at the walgreens or something.

I would definitely at the very least go take your BP at the store and put in a call to your care provider.

Sudden swelling of the face and/or hands is one of the signs on my midwife's list to call her right away. Are your ankles swollen at all?

Yes, sudden swelling in your hands (esp. without major heat happening) is a something to be concerned with. I would take your BP and call your care provider.

atleast call your HCP and keep us all posted.

Okay, you know it's NOT allowed to post something like this and then disappear!

Did you wind up getting your BP checked? What did your HCP say??

I'm going to echo what everyone else said. Sudden swelling could be a sign of a problem, or it could be that you slept on your hands overnight and they swelled. Or you were too active. Or you're dehydrated. Or you ate a bunch of salt yesterday.

But definitely worth checking out.

Checking your BP at the pharmacy is a good step, but still put a call in because BP can fluctuate a lot during the course of a day. You really need your urine checked for protein.

Any headaches? Spots in your vision? Pain in your upper abdomen? Swelling elsewhere?

Hopefully it's something minor and you're fine!!!

sorry ladies

You know, a couple hours later and my ring fit fine. Woke up this morning and they were swollen again, but within the hour they were fine. And I don't mean like noticably swollen to the eye - I only noticed because the darn ring was tight!

And nothing else is swollen, so I'm not stressing it. I'm actually thinking it's because the last two nights dh has let me sleep in - so I was literally horizontal in bed for a good 12 hours each night. I am finally caving to the end of pregnancy exhaustion, I think.
