Advice for a trip

Thread Starter
My 15 month old is probably about 21 or 22lbs now. He's not walking yet, and we are taking a trip to different states in a few weeks. I have an angel pack, which he loves to be in, but I think that will be TOO hot. A girl in my LLL group lobes her mei tei ring sling. Would this be a wise purchase for my trip. We will be going to Asheville NC (Probably visit the Biltmore), Savannah, Ga, Maybe Disney in Orlando. We will take a stroller. He really doesn't like to sit in it, so I figured the ring sling would be good to use when he wants to get out of the stroller, but he won't be right up against us, like in the angel pack. Any suggestions?

**Edited to add: I should have clarified that I am intending on using a sling for hip-carry. Are the solarveil slings lightweight?

A mei tai and a ring sling are two different kinds of carriers. I wouldn't think a mei tai would be any different from the angelpack you already have in terms of heat. A ring sling will be cooler, but may be hard on your shoulders/back/etc. when used for lots of walking. I think a ring sling stopped being OK for me on longer walks around the time they weighed 24-25 pounds, but it's very individual.

So, if you plan to alternate between the sling and the stroller, the sling will probably be fine. If it were me, I'd probably bring the angelpack as well, just to have a familiar alternative available.
