Where would you donate used nursing shirts?

I have old-style motherwear nursing shirts and a few other brands. I mean REALLY OLD. (my oldest is 10 1/2!) You know the old style that screams "I am a nursing shirt made specifically for breastfeeding and when my owner is done she will not be keeping me!" I was going to try listing them on ebay or CraigsList, but I can only imagine that I'd go to all the trouble to take pictures and pay listing fees and then no one would want them, except for maybe a Motherwear Museum .

So I'm really wanting to donate them, but I don't want to just drop them off at the Goodwill or Salvation Army or something. I'd like them to go to mothers that really need them. They have some fraying fibers and a few small tears, fading colors and loose threads, but I'm thinking that maybe somebody somewhere might get some use out of them.

Where would you donate things like this? I was thinking of one of those pregnancy centers for teens/women where they encourage the mom to have the baby, keep the baby, and learn life skills. I just don't know. Could I donate them to LLL to sell at their meetings? Would they do that? I just don't want them to sit in a bin at some thrift store or something and somebody thinking a box that says nursing shirts are really hospital scrubs...LOL!

I'd offer them on the Trading Post here on MDC, or at my local Freecycle group.

Can you post freebies in the trading post without paying the fee to join? I haven't read all the guidelines. Offering them here is a great idea! So many moms here have blessed me beyond belief, I would love to return the blessing!

maybe at a pregnancy centre that helps women with lower incomes or single moms

You could always try a women's shelter/women's support agency.

I second donating them to a domestic violence shelter. Many are pregnant or new moms, desperate for help and very, very grateful. (Been there)

Ditto to the free cycle post.

WIC... I donated some nursing covers to them, after I got over my fear of nip.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to put them here in the Trading Post under freebies (is that FFS?).

I also found a few that I *might* make some money on. hopefully...fingers crossed.

But with any luck, the bulk of them are going to some deserving MDC moms!
