Tomato Trouble

Two of my tomato plants have gone kaput -- one the leaves all blackend and then the branches shriveled and the other all the leaves are yellowing. I think the first caught something from the rose nearby that also lost almost all it's leaves. Any idea what happened? Can I save the third from a similar fate.

And this may be related, but my bush bean's leaves are yellowing also. They are in a different bed onthe other side of the rose. Any ideas what this might be? A nutrient deficiency?

Thanks for any advice.

I don't have answers for you, as I've not experienced those symptoms. It sux to lose your tomatoes especially!

Your beans may be a nutrient problem, hard to say. I feed mine a product call fish and poop that I get here:

A little of that or somthing like it and they will snap out of it. Hopefully.

Thanks for the support. I'm not sure they are dead completley yet. One seems to have a sucker I missed that's doing well and the other has new leaves that hav ethe blackish look to them but aren't wilting away yet. We've had a ton of rain this year -- perhaps that is part of the problem. I don't think it's blight -- the fruits on these plant are still healthy, though green.

I'll look for a fertilizer. I've been banking on my compost mostly.
