It sounds like things are going well despite that wait; I'm glad that breastfeeding is going well for you and hoping that your test results are what you want to hear. My thoughts are with you as you heal from the surgery and await the results.

I just checked out that link and what they injected was considered a radioisotope. I was radioactive and it was coming out through my breastmilk that was leaking, so I did have to stop nursing. I wish I didn't, but everything worked out fine and it's over with now and that's all that matters

Oh I feel for you so much! You must just be feeling better on your bottom half and now your top half is messed up. I'm so glad having your friend nurse went well, and I hope you will have a very fast recovery and that the results show that your lymphs are clean!

So today I went and got the drainage tube removed. My pathology report from my lymph nodes had come in when we got there. The lymph node in my armpit was fine, but the lymph node near my clavicle had a small amount of cancer. They removed the lymph node for the biopsy, so it's out of there, but we have to go to the oncologist and have PET scans to see if there is cancer anywhere else. I also might have to start on a drug treatment at some point. We won't know more until we visit with the oncologist sometime next week.
The drug that my surgeon mentioned was interferon. I looked it up online and it seems like I would still be able to breastfeed if that is what I have to do.

I was looking forward to not having to go to so many doctors and having this be over, but unfortunately it's going to be a while before that is the case.

I want to thank everyone for thinking about me in this trying time. We're getting through it. I am so lucky to have Elijah because he's really been what's keeping me together.

I was not completely under but I was heavily sedated. I am currently on hydrocodone and still breastfeeding. I am sure general anesthesia is fine for breastfeeding too, some people still get put under for c/s and are able to nurse.
