Violence? I get jealousy, fighting, and abandonment (although Ron really abandoned both Harry and Hermione there, right?), but I'm not really seeing violence. I'm probably missing something...

Yeah, I didn't read into any of that and I've read Harry Potter over and over again.

Me neither. A little bickering and some jealousy but nothing extreme and no violence in the relationship.
