Magazine for 3 year old?

DD has had a subscription to Wild Animal Baby that she has just loved. However, I think she's outgrowing it, and it's up for renewal.

Can anyone recommend a good magazine subscription for a newly 3 year old? She's very very into reading - books like One Morning in Maine, Little Bear, Frog and Toad, etc. Her attention span (especially for books) is quite long.

I don't know that you're going to find long-form works in a magazine, because that's just not they way they are, as a medium, designed. That being said, we get both My Big Backyard and Hi-Five. Personally, if I had to keep just one, it'd probably be My Big Backyard, because it provides a science aspect that she doesn't get from her other books. But DD(4) enjoys the puzzles and poems in Hi-Five.

DS doesn't care for High Five. Maybe he's not quite old enough yet, he's only 2.5. We still love Wild Animal Baby. The back says you can switch to my big back yard anytime w/o charge. I also just got a thing for Nat'l Geo Lil Kids, and it looks super awesome. Like Wild Animal Baby only for bigger kids w/ more real live photos and slightly harder activities like mazes.

Ladybug was great for my dd at that age- its put out by www.cricketmag.com and if you use coupon code N430 it will give you $5 off. They are a little more expensive than some of the competition, but there are NO adds, which I really love, and its generally a longer magazine than the other choices- so more articles, poems, etc.

My son adores Ladybug. He's been getting it since he turned 3.

His friend gets High Five and gave us a bunch of back issues, and none of us like it as well as Ladybug. It's just not as interesting, and all the stories are so short you can't really get into them. The good thing about it is that my son will do the "find the hidden pictures" puzzles on his own, and he's rarely willing to do ANYTHING alone, so that's cool!

another vote for Nat'l Geo Lil Kids...
dd (3) loves getting hers...I just wish it was every month instead of bi-monthly.
