Looking for a new carrier

Hello all,

I want a new carrier for DD and am looking for some help! We're going on a trip in a few months, and I'll need a better carrier for her, as I'll be wearing her most of the time. Defintely want even support on each shoulder, and something good for my back. I currently have a Maya ring sling and a blue celery wrap. DD is now 6 months, 16.5lbs, 27" (and my back is already getting sore!). I'd like something to last a while, and something that will definitely be good in hot weather in 3 months (average 9 month old), and something good for front carrying for at least the vacation, but also something that will work for bundling up in the winter. I'm 5'9" and hoping to be back to 135lbs soon. DH is 6'3", 230lbs. Ideally, I'd like something that will do both of us, be good for bopping around town, standing with her, walking/hiking with her, and isn't too hot. DD is a furnace, I still haven't lost my pregnancy heat.

I've read a lot on the Ergo, but I think I need something that I can use both outward and inward facing (on the front), and it would be nice to have something easy for her to sleep in too! (I think I'm asking for too much!). Not sure a Baby Bjorn or Belle Baby or Snuggly is right either, but the simplicity/hiking-style does appeal to DH. DD is squirmy and curious, so to be honest, I do more carring of her than putting her in a carrier, but that will need to change soon! Any advice welcomed.

Pikkolo w/ waist belt! Can forward face in front - and not compromise her spine/hips, face in on front, or on back. You can cross the straps in back (my preference) or wear like a backpack like the Ergo..... On the back it works like an Ergo.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to check it out with the waist belt. I definitely need something around the hip and not the waist (like the ergo does) - the way the pikkolo looks in all the pictures I've seen won't do!

The Ergo should be on the hip - the waist belt with the Pikkolo should be as well (on the hip). When used without the belt - it's mei tai style - on the waist. (my understanding anyway!)
