Ok so we've got the dog on raw now and she's doing great! Now how do I switch the cat over? She's a little bit, about 6.5 lbs, 10 years old and is your typical DSH. She has no problem eating raw meat and has been known to try and steal a steak off the counter lol, but I'm not sure how much I would feed her. She could use some weight on her so the higher end of things would be good. Thanks guys!

Feeding cats raw?

I'm thinking about it too. None of my previous cats ever wanted raw but our 12 week kitten loves it! He waits for the dogs to get a little on the floor and gobble it up. He even stole our snakes rats (we feed frozen and were in the process of thawing them out) last nite and ate one before we found him! So I know he is a raw eater but I'm not sure how to go about it either.

I don't have cats myself, but have friends who feed their cats raw. The only difficulty seems to be that some cats are not willing to try raw food and you have to switch them very gradually. But if your cat is a fan already then that makes it a whole lot easier!
The same rules as for dogs apply, except smaller animals usually need a higher percentage of their weight fed daily (normally for dogs it's 2-3% of their weight per day, you may need to go to 4-5% per day). Here is a sister group to the one I used, it focuses on raw for cats:
