Quote:
In another botched up circumcision this week, the Jakarta Globe report that a nine year old boy has had to undergo penis reattachment surgery.

...

As the over worked medical team sliced through Komaruddin’s foreskin with a laser cutting device, the cack-handed operative sliced straight through the poor boy’s reproductive organ with the laser, like a knife through butter. There was an ensuing panic as the medics raced around with the boy’s knob in their hands searching for a vessel to store it in.
Article contains a picture of the penis.

Wow. You'd think that people would get a clue and stop doing those mass circumcisions. Seems like I hear about things happening with those quite a bit.

How sad.

My thoughts exactly.

When will people learn!!!:

It seems many teens die in these initiation schools every year. It is truly horrendous!

that is awful

That article seems very flippant.

I don't even believe that it is possible to reattach it 4 days later.

That's what I was thinking too.
The window for attachment is 8 to 12 hours. Four days is probably impossible. A completely severed glans is much harder to reattach successfully than is a partially severed one due to blood supply issues.

WTF, I would be SO MAD if that was my child's penis. - Overworked or not that is one big 'OOPS'. You go to cut the foreskin and yet you slice through the entire penis? Are you kidding me?

Wow, how terrible. That poor child.

I don't mean to be insensitive, but is that website even legit? The article and even whole website smells rather fake to me.

If that is a real story then pardon my comments. Certainly that is a very horrible thing to happen (to put it minimally).

See, I thought I'd seen that picture somewhere before. The penis picture in that article is the same as the picture in this Snopes.com story:

Then what's the deal with the fake picture? Certainly takes away from the validity of the article. Seems as though they are poking fun at the situation.

I don't know that it's necessarily "fake", it may be a "stock photo" or something. It definitely doesn't have a caption claiming it's the penis of the baby the article's about.

Idunno...kinda weird regardless.

If you surf that site, the majority of the "news" articles are not only subjects related to genitalia in some way, they're all written by Earl Morningstarr. Coincidence on the name? I clicked around randomly, and the only stories that had a different by-line were those in the Entertainment and Sports sections. Not a thorough search, but it seems a bit like the UK version of The Onion to me...
