Cloth diapering on plane/long trip?

Ok, so I've read the posts before and recently about cloth diapering on vacations, etc., but haven't found any that talk about diapering w/ airplane travel. We'll be traveling 3000 miles by plane and gone for 9 days. I'm determined to do cloth and think I have a good plan but has anyone else done this?

I use mostly IPF's w/ pul covers and a handful of pockets. I'm planning on taking 18-24 prefolds and all (6) of my pockets. My husband and I each have are own suitcases and then I'll use a carry-on size suitcase for dd's diapers and clothes, although her clothes will likely fit in my suitcase, so packing-space-wise I think we're ok.

I just want to know if anyone else and done this and if so, what were the pitfalls/problems if any?

We've flown with cloth a number of times. No problem.

I dont see how cding on a plane would be any different than sposie diapering on a plane. You will be in transit for x number of hours and so pack y number of diapers in your diaper bag to accommodate said hours. Have fun on your trip!!!

Short flight, no problem. Long flight and you will have an added 2 - 5 lbs of soiled diapers with you. Not to mention that they weigh more in the first place. This is why I used 7th generation. But that was for flying... I don't know how many miles, but it was literally halfway around the globe, a 24 hr trip.

I guess 3,000 miles is just the U.S., right? In that case, I don't see a problem because you won't have to re-weigh luggage anywhere, so there's no problem taking it with you.

Though... there is a small, small risk that the contents of a soiled diaper could count as a liquid or gel, and you'd lose that diaper. On the one hand, it seems silly, but on the other hand, so long as they're banning ALL liquids, why not that? Because after all... you can't prove it's s**t.
