Hello-de-le-odily...

Just another intro... I believe I may have been on this site before but it was years ago. I'm a full time working mother of a 4 1/2 year old daughter who is getting ready to start Pre-K this fall and I had a baby boy this past March. Seems like I never have a moment to myself, but hopefully I'll be able to sneak in some time to hang out here once in a while. My little baby boy has had a few health issues since birth and I face the typical challenges of stepfamily parenting (I was a divorced single mom for a while and then just remarried last year) so I definitely sometimes need a place to come for support. As you might could tell from my username I am a huge Harry Potter fan/nerd. I'm looking forward to settling in here!

I LOVE harry potter!! My family also faces the challenges of step parenting. My DD is 9yrs old and when my DH and I got together she was 6, and I had been single the whole time. We still have some problems adjusting, especially once the baby came.

DD took the arrival of the baby very well and I'm thankful that she adores her little brother. I just wish she'd respect her stepfather more becuase for all intents and purposes that is the only father she has who actively plays the role of father.

Great to meet you!

Well, my DD took the arrival of her little brother very well too. Its DH who has some problems. He started treating my DD very unfairly after B was born. But we are working on it.

I was worried about that but thankfully the only difference I've noticed is that DH no longer sees DD off to bed anymore but the little one needs so much attention I can understand that. I just wish DD would treat him with more respect but she constantly carries on for her biological dad whom she hardly sees and does very little for her. I try to keep a positive attitude though. I hope that DH will get his emotions worked out... best of luck!
