Anyone have ideas on what they are doing with local groups for WBW? Trying to figure out something to do with my local group.

No ideas...I'm actually fairly disappointed that my local LLL group didn't even bring it up at the last meeting. I hope you can get something together!

Here's a link to the official site for those who haven't checked it out. It's August 1-7th.

There's no breastfeeding group where I am - I will at this point probably just try to wear one of my lactivist t-shirts when out running errands.

I'd like one year to donate books on breastfeeding to the local library - I don't think we can pull it off this year, financially. I'd like to donate:
So That's What They're For!
The Ultimate Guide to Breastfeeding (Newman)
The Breastfeeding Book (Sears)
The Womanly Art (LLL)
Adventures in Tandem Nursing (LLL)
How Weaning Happens (LLL)
Mothering Your Nursing Toddler (LLL)
Our Babies, Ourselves (Small)
and
The No-Cry Sleep Solution

All of which I think are very supportive of breastfeeding and good resources. I haven't yet read McKenna's book on co-sleeping but if it's good, would add it to the list. I think the hospital has a couple of these books, but multiple copies are always good I think.

I was just thinking about this actually, trying to figure out what to do. I lead a BF group (non LLL) here and want to organize something but can't imagine working with that theme. Maybe I'll just type something up for the usual press spots? We have a meeting right in the middle of the week though and it would be good to spiff it up somehow - I'm just braindead for creativity at the moment.
Anybody have any ideas that they can't pull off and I could steal???
(I already have created a lending library).

I, too, was looking for some local activities involving WBW, but came up empty-handed as well.
If anyone is a member of Facebook, and is interested, the group "Hey Facebook, Breastfeeding is not obscene" is hosting a virtual nurse-in for WBW.
They are encouraging people to simply post a pic of a nursing mother as your profile pic. (FB has been removing these pics saying that they are "obscene")

Forgot to mention, the virtual nurse-in is being sponsored by The Mother's International Lactation Campaign (M.I.L.C.) if that makes any difference.

Too bad I won't be nursing until next year WBW. Can't wait. I'm due end of Jan and I miss breastfeeding so much.

This will be my first WBW nursing-- DS was born August 31st, so he'll be just over 11 months that week.
