Question about night time and CLW

Thread Starter
I am really committed to child-led weaning and was wondering what other peoples' experience has been as far as night nursing. My son is two and still wakes several times throughout the night to nurse as well as needing to nurse to sleep for naps and night time. Allowing him to just go at his own pace developmentally and nursing when he needs/wants to is important to me, and I know that he's still young. But I'm wondering what to expect for nights, and if I still only going to be getting 2.5 hours of sleep at a time when he's six?
Thanks,
Marija

: Anxious to hear some advice on this. If I just know I won't be getting uninterrupted sleep until DD is 4, then atleast I can be prepared!

My ds2 is 25 months, and still nurses at night...I'm honestly not sure how often. 95% of the time I don't even notice it, but the times when he is more wakeful/restless/whatever I find myself thinking "I need to nightwean!" Luckily, that doesn't happen very often, so of course I will never really do it.

I'd say that both ds2 and I generally sleep very well (or my body has adjusted well to 7 years of interrupted sleep ).

My DD,2 still nurses to sleep at naps(when it's me putting her down)and to bed(when it's me putting her down). She does still nurse at night at times. I too was wondering if I would only get more then 3 hours of sleep in a row before she would nurse. Finally, she just started sleeping better and longer. It will happen for you Mama!

DD stopped nursing at night when we stopped co-sleeping--around 3.5 years. I minimized it before then by restricting to once a night and pulling the "10 on each side" trick (which we still use). It's basically a warning that she's not getting unrestricted milk and that after "10 on each side," she's to go back to sleep. ("10," by the way, started as a literal count to ten, but then she got annoyed by that and asked me to count in my head. It changes, but ranges from about a half a minute to 2 minutes in length.)
