I was checking on my corn, and noticed some ants climbing up a few of the stalks; as I looked closer, I saw a bunch of greyish aphids hanging out in the tassels of a few of the plants. I'd never seen aphids on corn before; is this fairly common? and how hard should I try to get rid of them - that is, how much damage might they do to a corn plant? I did notice a couple of ladybugs hanging around (including one with some eggs ), so I'm hopeful they'll snarf up a fair number of the evil little beasts, but if aphids are likely to ruin my corn, I might want to step up the controls some (organically, of course).
