Is it still child led weaning?

My DS is almost 14 mos and I have planned to CLW but latley, I have not been able to take the all night nursing. I realised that he was not sleeping enough during the day and therefore was waking a lot at night. Once I switched his nap up, he slept though the night two nights in a row for the first time in 6 mos! Any way, since then I have decided not to nurse him at night since it's clear that he can go all night without needing to eat. My DH has been going in if he wakes up to calm him and he falls back to sleep. If he gets up at 5am I'll nurse since he has gone all night without food.

I guess my question is, if he only nurses at night if I offer it (for my convienence to get him back to sleep faster) and then I stop, how will this affect CLW? Obviously, it's me stopping him from eating at night but I feel like I've just been putting a cork in a crying mouth and teaching him to eat all night along. How realistic is it that a 14 month old shouldn't need to eat at night? I've heard stories about kids daytime weaning shortly after mom night time weaned. Did this happen to anyone?

I night weaned my son at 16 months and 2 months later he completely weaned, but I attribute it to being 5 months pregnant since he flat out told me it didn't taste good! Personally I did not night wean this one and she did it herself at about 19 months and is still nursing away during the day at 25 months. Do what works for you and yours.

I slowly night weaned my older DS between 18-20m and he continued to nurse till almost 2.5 just fine. Nursed him all through my pregnancy and tandem for 5 months. I am preparing to night wean my 15m old in the nest few months. I think night weaning at this age is realistic because my DS has slept plenty of nights without nursing.

I nightweaned my ds at 16 months and he continued to nurse until he was 4 and a few months. Do I think it was completely child led? Well no. But it was as child led as I could manage it to be at the time, which meant no night nursing for us, but unrestricted access during the day when I wasn't at work (part time).
