Nystatin and prefolds/yeast question

Hi, I have a one month-old who was just diagnosed with a little yeast diaper rash. I don't have thrush or anything, it's just on her little bum. They prescribed nystatin.

1. Will nystatin mess up my prefolds? I mainly use unbleached Indian prefolds. How do I treat the diapers--strip or boil them?

2. I'm going to go ahead and use a homemade fleece liner and wash them separately from the diapers.

3. Right now I'm using non-chlorinated organic disposable wipes, but I'd like to immediately switch to cloth wipes with a homemade solution involving tea tree oil from a recipe I found online.

4. I guess I should increase her naked time?

mmmkay TIA!

what type of nystatin is it? cream or powder?

to be safe, you may want to use a liner like you said you were going to do. when i had a yeast rash, once it was over, i washed my diapers very thouroughly in HOT water and used some TTO -- just to make sure that there wasn't any yeasts lingering in my diapers.
Good luck!

It's a cream. I had been given a stained very thin flannel receiving blanket in a bag of handmedowns, so I washed that, cut it up, and have been using them as thin liners in prefolds. Then I just throw away the liner and washed the diapers and covers on hot, added 1/2 cup of vinegar, and dried them in the sun.

It's the cream kind. Her rash looks so much better but it got worse there for a day or so before it got better!
