Mama Duggar nurses in public!

I tuned into TLC to see 18 Kids and Counting go to Dollywood. While I have some philosophical and undoubtedly religious difference with the Duggars, I was so excited to see the mom nursing her youngest while walking around Dollywood and even on a parade float! She wears her brest friend and uses a nursing cover and walks around nursing! Yay!!

Yeah! She nurses in public all the time. In one episode she was nursing while reading a book to an elementary school class! How cool!

She really is. Don't watch the show but I saw them on the Today Show.

At first I thought you had nearly as many kids but then saw two of yours were furbabies.

I used to do it at home all the time when my daughter was wee, but never in public. However, if I had 17 (well, 16 since one is married and expecting his first daughter) kids to chase around, I might've worn it outside, too!

I see people doing it at the Y all the time, as they manage activities for more than two kids. Doesn't look silly, or at least any more silly than people wearing an earpiece!

i would have done it too, simply because we can only nurse in the football hold, and its a pain without a pillow (and not to mention HUGE boobs). i was *thisclose* to hauling my boppy around everywhere (but i still wouldnt have been able to walk around) when i figured out how to swing a football hold in a sling.

The kindness and gentleness she always shows with her children is such an inspiration to me. I hope that I can someday be half as patient as she is... and I only plan to have 1/9th the number of children!

While it's always great to see a public figure/celebrity breastfeeding, it is outside the scope of this forum to discuss whether individuals breastfeed or don't breastfeed (even celebrities!). If a celebrity or public figure is involved in some sort of intentional breastfeeding advocacy/campaign, that would be considered on-topic for the Lactivism forum.

There is a Duggar thread in television, and it would be appropriate to discuss this there. As a matter of fact, I believe it's actually already being discussed.
