Looking for any VBAC friendly providers in the El Paso area! My friend is 24 wks along with her second. She needs some good contacts in her area who can help her find a provider and hopefully also a doula.

Thank you for any help! PM me!

LOL! I was going to post the exact same thing!

There is also Art of Birth and Wellness in Las Cruces. Two of their midwives are in El Paso, and they are licensed for both states. They do homebirths, and provide doula services. I absolutely love these ladies. If you'd like a reference for your friend, or if you or she has any questions, feel free to PM me - I love to sing their praises!

thank you all three for your replies! i did find a midwife online who works with the art of birth and wellness and she replied right away with some info. i'll probably pass on her number as a good resource. unfortunately i don't think this couple is willing to do a hbac, so that narrows their options down considerably. although i could be wrong. she is the sister-in-law of a good friend, so we are not that close. she has just said she is scared of another section and doesn't know where to start.

What about a birth center birth if she doesn't want a homebirth? There would be both Casa and Maternidad? Or does she strictly want a hospital birth?

Both will be in my list of resources. I know they are also worried about insurance coverage but it looks like the out of pocket for the birth centers is very reasonable.

I don't know where they are exactly in their journey, whether they think they can have an easy natural hospital birth and are completely opposed to alternatives or whether they would consider out of hospital. From the little I know about them I would assume option A. But who knows. I'm giving some mothering articles and offering to loan Obstetric Myths vs... to them. We'll see how it goes.

I am a new doula to the El Paso area. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about providers yet (we've only been here a month!) but I'd love to talk to her if she's still looking for a doula.

I've attended 20+ births, 3 of which were VBACs. Let me know if I can help!

Hi Tiffany are you still in the El Paso, TX area? Do you know if you are covered through BCBSTX?

Thanks,

Jackie
