Probably in labor . . . UPDATE - Baby's here! See 2nd page!

Hi, everyone!

I woke up this morning with annoying contractions and leaking fluid. I'm not too happy about this (logistically) since I am 36 weeks 4 days and my midwife is out of town, but I don't feel like anything is wrong w/me or baby so I'm okay with having a baby today or tomorrow if that's how it's going to be.

I do think things may be spacing out now that I'm fully awake and talking to people and stuff - but if I get up and walk around/try to take care of my kids - I get more ctx.

I've never had leaking water before - this is novel! Both my previous labors the water BROKE, like exploded all over everything, shortly before active labor began. So we'll see what this is like.

I have reached my birth assistant and the midwife's backup. And they're both okay with me staying home, which was my main logistical worry.

Other than the mtg DH was supposed to have tonight and the meeting I was supposed to have tomorrow night (work).

But hey, I'm not in charge here!

eta- to with dd1 my water broke about a day before anything else happened... so hang in there and get as much rest as you can.

I am well cared for DH isn't really working right now (he's freelance and this is his slow season) although he does have a meeting tonight so he's around and busily cleaning the house while the kids watch Avatar : I'm chilling. I'm still having contractions but they're pretty putzy.

I'm going to go grocery shopping (w/DH & the kids, so I can stop and they can finish up if I need them to) and try to get out the baby clothes and diapers I haven't extracted from the shed out later - and rest. Because my best guess would be that things will stay putzy today and sometime tonight will pick up into real labor.

I'm okay with this leak re-sealing and everything going away, if that happens, though. We'll just wait and see!
