What did you accomplish today? - Page 2

I need to do more today. So far I've done dishes and put dinner in the crockpot. Here's the recipe: http://slow-cooker-recipes.blogspot....t-chicken.html

Going to go clean the car now. Maybe sew up some jammies for my oldest next. Must. get. motivated. Buying a new book last night was not a good idea!

I have. . . .

changed my sheets, ran a load of diapers, cleaned the new Ikea closet we had installed today. Also loaded and unloaded the dishwasher, started clearing off the kitchen counters, put away whatever clean laundry I could find (not much) in Ikea closet.

Swept my bedroom floor, found objects for DH, changed diapers, fed DS, bought DD some treats for her summer camp care package. Nursed DS, read him a couple of books. Took the trash out several times, got blue bag of recycling together.

Commiserated with DH over shoddy contractor work (they helped DH put the closet together - they didn't have a hammer, they didn't think to measure. . . .I didn't trust them unsupervised with the Ikea closet. . . .) I could go on and on. . . .

Talked up a neighbor about doing doula work for her, ate lunch out with DS, BOY was THAT work - he wanted to climb the steps out of the small cafe, and wiggled a bunch - I FINALLY convinced him to sit still for a meal....it worked out, he LOVED the fresh-squeezed OJ. . . . .

Checked email for work leads - stopped by the grocery store(s): first, for ziplock bags and condensed milk (sale), THEN for garlic, and FAGE. (I live in New York City, so this was all with DS, about 27+ pounds, in an Ergo, on my back. . . .)

There must be half a dozen other things - still doing laundry. I want to wash EVERYTHING before transfering clothes to the new closet. DS's stuff will be moved into DD's room - we gave her our old, tall dresser. I hope to add kill a mosquito to that list - it drives me INSANE that they seem to still be getting into the house. Of course DH could %$#@$* get some screens. He complains that they would break / need maintainance. Grrrrrrrr.

i love writing down what i accomplish, i do it every day if i can. nice to be inspired and also remember things i forgot to do

i made homemade strawberry jello with my girls, all of us together. i washed + hung out a load of laundry on our new line, and folded it away, lovely! i washed a lot of dishes, and tidied up the garden.

i bought some presents (food!) for our trip next week, returned library books, and took my little one to soccer. otherwise i accomplished very little, for me!

I cleared off a shelf for a cd player in our library, and rearranged the music, books on cd and books about music and musicians. The children have already noticed.

Today has been nonstop work on the house:

~ Stripped DD's beds (regular bed plus trundle) down to the mattresses. Washed and line-dried every single thing, including the comforter, pillows, mattress covers, sheets, duvet, pillow cases, etc. Put freshly washed and air-dried in sunshine items back on. Well, so far, only the mattress covers, bed skirt, and sheets are dry.

~ Moved nearly every single item OUT of DD's bedroom (left the trundle and one dresser/hutch). She helped me quite a bit! We dusted and cleaned each item before it left her room and then I vacuumed every square inch of the room at least twice so far.

~ Removed all my belongings out of my childhood furniture that was still in our master bedroom. Dusted and cleaned each item. Moved items into a box. Moved clothing around a bit, but most is sitting in a laundry basket now. Gave away a handful of items thus far. Vacuumed areas of room accessible thus far.

~ Moved furniture into DD's room. It fits!!! : Only one more piece is in my room, but I don't have a replacement yet so it will stay there for now.

~ Our bedroom is still a disaster, but it'll be better than ever soon enough. I'm taking a break for a bit and then I will get the ONE new piece of furniture that is replacing THREE into place. DH gave away two very large pieces from his college days and we only replaced them with one new large piece. Our master bedroom is already fairly large, but it is going to feel positively SPACIOUS soon! :

dp had the day off so he helped me

vacuum the entire house including the stairs
pick up the living room
clean the downstairs bathroom
clean the family room,
get the boys to clean their room..

house looks presentable! which is good, since we had a birthday party! First we took the kids bowling (used a whole bunch of coupons I had saved so that was )
came back for pizza, ice cream and pinata! It was a lot of fun.

Very inspiring thread! So far I helped dh clean his walk-in closet and finished organizing the next size of clothes for ds. I have 6 totes stacked and labeled in the basement according to contents of each, we have 3 huge garbage bags of clothes for goodwill dropoff, and I have a load of laundry washing right now. I also found a home for my laptop and all of the wires/electronics that clutter my kitchen! Now ds is napping and the girls are swimming at a friend's so I hope to clean the kitchen and tidy up the playroom!

Cleaned the house for the first time since we moved in! This included:

Scrubbing all the window wells with a frigging toothbrush because they were FILTHY (seriously, I've seen trees grow in less dirt!)
Washed the windows and plastic divider thingy on the faux French doors to the patio, again with a toothbrush and rags...had to clean the outside 3 times and it needs it again, ugh!
DH vacuumed all the floors and carpets, then I mopped
Scrubbed the tub and toilets
Cleaned the kitchen counters and sink; bathroom counters and sink
Scrubbed the gas burner rack things (ick!! seriously, who lived here last????)

Oh, I also made these vegan maple-sticky blonde brownies...not that that has anything to do with decluttering, but it will be a nice treat for after dinner!

today my hubby is painting the dining room. we'll get rid of the last of the clutter in that room simultaneously by not bringing the stuff back into the room.

I painted a coat of white on 4 doors (in the relationship bagua) and decluttered a big metal shelf with my teaching resources and some other random stuff. It was a big day. I usually don't get this much time.

i installed a rainbarrel, planted out seedlings, hung laundry out + packed it up for our trip, and tidied the house. i gathered lavender to stave off the moths in my yarn stash, ew! my big decluttering job will be when we arrive, that's where all of our things are, really, and i can start to reduce the clutter. oh, and bring some of it back with me

4 loads of laundry, cleaned both bathrooms, relaid basement carpeting from flood. Worked on being a more patient mother.

Two loads of laundry, made the beds, took the kids to the park, did a load of dishes and put them away, washed more dishes, plan to have leftovers for dinner (so fewer dishes tonight!) and at the end of the day, will pick up toys and put away as I do every night!

I had been doing so good for weeks, and today was my last day of my online course so I was busy focusing on that and neglected pretty much everything. I am hoping I don't lose my momentum and can get back on track. No wonder my house ends up in shambles when I'm working or otherwise not focused on 'home' 24/7. Keeping things tidy is still a very conscious decision, I wish it were more automatic.

Washed and folded 3 loads of laundry; cleaned the living room, family room, kitchen, and laundry/mudroom; vaccuumed the kids' rooms and my bedroom; cleaned one bathroom.

TWO MINIVANS FULL OF STUFF FOR CHARITY..
Baby clothes all boxed up for my SIL...ready to post tomorrow.
but it doesn't look like we made even a dent!

Took the 8YO shopping. Oy!

Gratefully, my dad then took her to the pool for a few hours. I rested and relaxed after taking care of laundry and some other housecleaning tasks downstairs.

When she came home, I taught her how to polish her new furniture. It is actually my childhood furniture, so it is quite old. It desperately needed a polish. Then, we filled it up with all of her stuff.

I moved my new piece of furniture into position in our master bedroom and polished it and our other piece of furniture. I started filling up the new piece. I'll have to at least get the bed cleaned off before one of us wants to go to bed since everything is ON the bed...

...okay, clearly things are sinking in 'cause I went down to make sure the lights were off before heading to bed and before I knew it I was wiping down tables, then organizing the dirty dishes, then cleaning the dishes, even got them dried and put away. I walked into a disasterous kitchen and walked out with it clean! :
