help with signature

I'm sure this has already been covered many times but I can't find anything. I've read all the info about making your signature and I can't figure it out! What do I do yo make my signature. I have figured out how to use the smiley faces but I can't figure out how to make them part of my signature. Getting really frustrated! Help!

New members are limited to one smiley in their signatures until they've reached a minimum of 50 posts and 60 days of membership. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience!

Smilies are small graphical icons which you can insert into your messages to convey an emotion or feeling, such as humor, happiness, or embarassment. Certain combinations of text characters are converted into smilies. Click here for a list of the smilies currently used at MDC. As of 10/10/2006, New Members are limited to 1 smilie in their signature. Members are allowed 8 smilies in their signatures when they have accrued 50 posts and have been registered for 60 days. (click your name and choose view profile to see on what date you registered). Don't want to wait? Check out the Premium Subscriptions.
