Help with daytime frequency of urination

Thread Starter
I desperately need help with daytime frequency of urination symptoms in my almost 4 yo DD. It's been a few days now and it's frustrating for all of us and I'm starting to lose patience. She is in the bathroom 5-6 times an hour...and won't go to bed at night for fear of having to pee, etc. I've tried ignoring the symptoms, reasurring she's healthy, went to the doc to r/o UTI, etc..

Anyone deal with this? How long does it last? Any tips? TIA

Low blood sugar should be ruled out too.

Does she have a new sibling? Our 5yo ds just went through this with new baby was born. His frequency continued for about 1 month. The BEST thing we did was to stop talking about it. We let him go, even if it was an inconvenience (say, while we were driving, we just stopped ASAP). No discussion about it.

We also r/o UTI, kidney function, diabetes.

We did think we found the official diagnosis : pollakiuria

my son has convinced himself that every time he takes a drink, he has to pee. he's starting to understand that it's not necessary but i'm sure it will take time. as a sufferer of bladder issues (my bladder is actually never empty and the docs are working on trying to help me-so far, not great), i have more patience than the average mom on this one and don't mind taking him to the bathroom (usually-sometimes i send daddy when i'm tired of going in and out of bathrooms) b/c i generally have to go too! he's getting the idea now (again-it came on suddenly that he got this idea in his head) and i'm sure it's only a matter of time before he's over it. he's just very interested in figuring out where the "water comes from" and how it gets out and when.
