Has anyone had a resurgance of ppd when their cycle came back. I have been on zoloft since last november and have been feeling great but then i got my period back and havebeen ovulating for thepast 2 months and I feel like i am sliding again. i a terifid of going back to the mental placeIwas in last Fall. I was hoping to get off of zoloft in a couple months but now I am almost wondering if i need to up my dose...
any ideas?

Yes, I am experiencing that. I think that once you've had depression, your body is just more vulnerable to changes in hormones, stress, etc. I had an awful first month after first af and I think my depression might be turning into PMS. I never had trouble with PMS before ppd. I haven't decided exactly what to do--I'm not currently taking medication. I think I may start medication again, though. Upping your dose sounds like a good idea to me.

It's really discouraging, isn't it!

Not a full return, but even as I approach 1 year after I consider the ppd to have ended, I still have some lingering effects that seem to be going very slowly down over time. One is uncomfortability in crowds/agoraphobia, but now it's a vague nervousness and edginess; once upon a time it was tears and panic in even a friendly crowd. The other is more sad/anxious PMS rather than easily angered, which is what my PMS used to be before the PPD. I think there are just some patterns now worn in the brain when it's reacting to certain hormones.

Thanks for posting you guys. I decided to up my Zoloft by 25 mgs. I am on 100 mgs now and today is my first day. I feel sort of jittery and my stomach hurts...has anyone experienced these symptoms with uping medication?
