Southern CO Traditional Foods?

So, I just moved to southern Colorado and am having a hard time finding good food sources. Anyone in Pueblo or east area have any recommendations for food coops or other healthful food places in this area?
Thanks!

I recently moved from Salida to Northern New Mexico. There are actually quite a few active CSA's in the area and I think there are some raw milk dairies close by, too. And there are TONS of grassfed beef/lamb places around, too.

David Lynch w/ Guidestone Farms in Nathrop has been very active in Colorado CSA/raw milk community and would probably have some good contacts or info for you. You can reach him at farmerlynch@msn.com

There are actually quite a few WAPF chapter leaders in CO as well. They know most if not all the sources, and are excellent contacts.

I live in Central CO, and there's some fantastic resources around. You can start with the Colorado Farmers Market Association to find a market near you and move on from there. That'll be good start. From there check out Local Harvest - many places have a listing on that site. Also check out the Valley Organic Growers Association which puts out a guide to western slope growers and ranchers. It may be a bit far from you, but many places will ship if they're large enough.

I'm in Walsenburg and do my shopping in Pueblo. I try to hit the farmers market in the summers when possible. The rest of the year I do go to vitamin cottage and there is a whole foods in Springs. If you go in the summer down the valley as they say here ( La Junta area) they have alot of farms and markets. Hope this helps.

Well, since my DH works for Vitamin Cottage (lol), I will list that first. Country Roots farm has a CSA--they are organically grown but not certified due to prohibitive certification fees from what I understand. My clients own Larga Vista Ranch and I can testify to their delicious grain-feed, organic meat.
