Weird question I know but I'm wondering if anyone keeps peacocks on their property, cage free? Dh and I are moving to a home on 9 acres within the next month or so and we went to our local fair today and I saw peacocks and remember how beautiful they are and how you can keep them on property. I don't know anything about them or what they need but I'd love to have a few pairs running around. There is a 3 acre lake and probably 1/2 acre is grass and the rest is all wooded. We have a ton of deer and wild turkey on the property as it is.
So what do you think?
ETA: We live nearly a half mile off the nearest road, down a windy, tree lined driveway. You can not see the house from the road. The road is not busy and only has 3 houses on it. The property is surrounded by farm land and most of it is fenced off but there are some places where the fence is down.

) keeps peafowl. They have a coop for them at night, but let them free throughout the day. The STL zoo has a bunch of free range peafowl too
. I would love to have some, but we are in the city and only have 1/2 acre, so we stopped at chickens and ducks. Peafowl are pretty loud!
