Need to look at penis for cancer

I was getting a 2nd opinion about my son's undescended testicles the other day. I said to the dr., "Please do not retract my son's intact penis, actually, do not even touch it" He said that even though he was a moille, he didn't believe in circ'ing just for cultural reasons. But Dr. got a bit defensive and started to babble on about stuff I couldn't even comprehend, but said something about cancer. I asked, "What does having to look at my son's penis have to do with his undescened testicles?" He just kept going on and I couldn't focus b/c I was afraid he was going to start retracting like the last Ped. Urologist did, even though I said the same thing to him. He said it would be like taking my son to the cardiologist and not having him not listen to his heart.

Can someone fill in the blanks and help me understand?

I found out my son has retractable testicles not undescended. It was a huge relief. Now I need to do some research about that. At least no immediate need for surgery and very little chance if at all.

With undescended testicles that there is an increased risk of testicular cancer later in life. That may be what he was referring to, not that he was examining your son for cancer. Of course he would need to examine his SCROTUM to see if the testes are descended or not. But as far as touching the rest of the penis, I don't see how that would relate to undescended testes and, if that's what you took him in for, I would think you could legitimately pass on that one.

Good for keeping that man's hands off your child's penis! You are the mom, you were not there for a penis issue.
