Seasonal Flu Shot May Be Mismatched

Another storm may be brewing for the coming flu season: A component of the seasonal flu shot may not be well matched to the circulating viruses, potentially setting up what's known as a vaccine mismatch.

Some samples of the emerging new strain of H3N2 viruses show a substantially reduced response to antibodies generated by the corresponding virus in the seasonal vaccine, raising the possibility of significantly reduced protection in some cases.

Not as far as I know - or at least, not since I've been paying attention. Seriously, the flu shot is *ALWAYS* a crap shoot, so this shouldn't surprise *ANYONE*

For all children ages 6 months to 18 years. Presumbly the other groups of adults are similar to previous years, I'm having a hard time finding the actual notice on the cdc site.

I've poked around more on the CDC site, and it looks like that may be pretty much the same as last year, so I'm not sure how that is strengthened.
