How many snappis for the newborn stage?

My baby girl will be here soon, and I am using prefolds with snappis for the first time. I have no idea how many to buy! I know they are cheap but we are really counting our pennies right now, so I don't want to buy too many but I want to make sure I have enough. TIA.

You really only NEED one. They only wear one at a time.

But I wished I had had two 'cause sometimes it would just disappear! I'd always find it but I'd have to switch to pins for a couple of dipes until it showed up again. So weird!

Also, I recently had one break & that would have been frustrating if I didn't have another one on hand.

One will do you fine, but two would be good in case one gets lost. We've used two for the last three months and haven't needed more.

I needed 4.
For some reason, as a NB the middle/bottom part of the Y kept getting unhooked and flipping up and grabbing DS's umbilical stump so I cut it off. I think I bought 4 altogether, so that one, and then three others. I think I managed to lose them all long before he was a year old, but by then we were just trifolding the dipes into his covers.

Ah! Well that's good news, I have two already. Guess I'll just start with those and see how long they last me.

if your DH or someone uses something that doesn't require a snappi (fitted, aio etc) i suggest one for the car/diaperbag too. many time have i gone to change a dipe and it was a KL where I onlt carry PFs in my bag. and if you don't snappi a pf thats when they poo all over you

Two, although we aren't currently using Snappis, just folding them into place and putting the cover on. So far it hasn't been a problem, since they don't move around too much at this age

i usually don't have many on hand and will re-use one until it needs to be replaced. i like to keep an extra in the diaper bag and maybe a spare at home.

i can go down the street and buy another if needed. if i had to order them exclusively online and pay for shipping i'd probably buy quite a few at once.

I liked having 4 although what I really needed was 3. One for using, one for if the first gets dirty so it's within reach at the changing table, and one for the diaper bag to carry around at all times.

I have 3 from a hand-me-down diaper stash, and one is all we've needed. Well, it's nice to have 2 as well.
