Hippiemommaof4- I think the OP meant that the manager should know better than anyone that if it's a LAW or a RIGHT- then there is no way to "reason" around it. Meaning that because he served in the military that he defended our RIGHTS and our FREEDOMS- not that he specifically knows the laws and all that they entail.
While I see your logic there, OP, I don't think that just because someone is or was a military member that they stand up for everyone's rights and freedoms and laws "just because" they were in the military. They follow orders, and those orders allow US the freedoms and rights that we have. All of the service members I've known joined the military to defend America's Freedom, keep us safe from physical threats. I'm sure there are people out there that joined for other reasons.
OP- I hope you hear from you Lawyer soon, have you also contacted the other media networks? Newspapers? Radio's? Don't stick to just one station.
I hope your ER visit was handled and that child is ok. I'm interested to find out what the chairman of the HOA had to say about the siuation- espeically now that the manager has put his thoughts in writing via email. Curious.
My best advice, to take a step back and do some deep breaths when situations get nasty, and allow your lawyer to do all the talking. LOVED the video camera idea- just be carefull not to drop it in the water

Keep us posted! Very interesting story.........
