new to EC, w/ my 0-6m baby - Page 3

I'm subbing because I officially became an EC mama today!!! My little girl is 3 1/2 months old and I just figured out her cues today and caught 5-6 pees and one poop! I'm totally on a high now!

Before she was born, I thought I'd do it and then she was born. I was so lost and confused. A few weeks ago, I started with more diaper free time and basically starting trying to learn her timing. I had that figured out and was good at sensing. I usually missed between 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. Beyond that, I was just confused. Then I read the article on http://www.diaperfreebaby.org/index....=15&page_num=2. I attempted putting her on the potty for those inexplicable fusses and found that she peed each time.

I've been waiting for that breakthrough, because I was about to give up and rationalize that cloth diapering if alternative enough for me... But I'm glad to not do that now because I really like learning and doing what's possible, even though its not common or unlikely. If EC is possible in other cultures and families in my culture can do it, I want to see if I can do it too. I have so much awe at the discovery of life's possibilities and it would have been disappointing for me to not be able to realize that discovery.

Oh man, I'm going to have to come back and read this post when she's 11 months old and potty striking...

Hello ladies.

I am so glad to read all your stories and hear your progress. DS turned 5 months old yesterday and EC has been kinda hit and miss for pees for the last 2 months. DS had an oupatient surgery at the begining of Sept and I have had to start back over with all his routines. Everything got out of wack, his eating, sleeping and ECing. Now we are having some trying times, b/c I thinking he is starting to teeth. Fussy like I haven't seen him since he came home and running just a slight temp. Plus much much drooling.

On a good note we have not had a dirty diaper sinc the begining of Aug. One small mishap when dad was supposed to be watching him when I was running errands one morning. Also while reading all the new posts, DS started fussing, we had just had a pottytunity, where he pooed, but I though hey let me take him and he went right on cue. I am so execited if he is beging to cue like he used too.

The last few weeks he has seemed to be responding to the psss sound a lot less and we have had two almost completely diaper free days here at home and I think it is reminding him again.

Question...for anyone w/ a DS out there. When they get more moble are you keeping them completely uncovered or putting something there to keep any misses from going everywhere?

Great job everyone!!!
