If the powder gets solid what's the best way to break it up? Does it still work fine?
honestly, I just break it up with my hands, or sometimes if I'm lazy I don't break it up at all... I just let the water do it. It has worked fine!

i've never had that happen but i guess i would break it up with a spoon or dull knife or something.

I always empty mine into a different container, and then break up the chunks by hand.

BTW, Charlie's is redesigning the bag again! It's going to be the same cloth bag, but it will be moisture resistant. No more clumps!!!!

weird. mine has always come in a paperish bag. i buy it locally and it's made in the state i live in so maybe that's a factor.

Thanks for all the replies... I actually ended up just buying a new bag (the solid clumped was a bag I saw on sale).

I use a hammer! odd, but it was laying right next to the washer last time it happened so I grabbed it and pounded it a few times! like a charm!

Do you mammas absolutely just love Charlie's? Is it worth the effort buying online and having it shipped? Have you ever had any issues while using it (repelling, stinkies, etc.)?

TIA!

Top loading. My is very sensitive to washing soda so most any powdered detergants are out.

Yeah, that didn't work as well as we had hoped. I apologize to each and every one of you who had horrible clumps. It's embarrassing. We have fixed it, now. There is a plastic insert in the bag. But we're considering just going to a recyclable and partially recycled plastic tub (more durable than cardboard). Any thoughts?

Taylor I like the bags especially since you are going to put them in plastic first. I have never had the clumping problems though but love that I dont have a plastic container to dispose of I love your saop by the way
