Why are we getting so hot?

I have a moby wrap & my 3 week old LOVES it, until about 20 minutes into wearing it when we're both so hot we're sweating.

Is there some trick I don't know or a better/similar wrap that I can get that we won't get so darn hot in?

I have an 'over the shoulder baby holder' someone gave me but I have to say it's a little scary to me, it looks like the baby is going to fall out & he doesn't seem to like it at all. He prefers to be more upright like the moby lets him.

Maybe try a gauze wrap? Or a wrap that only has one layer? Is his head in or out?

I had the same problem. I bought a wombfruit gauze wrap online. We love it, and also use a kozy mei tai at 3mo, but at 3 weeks wraps are better.

on really hot days I wore light tank and babe only diaper in the wrap.

I think the moby is great but way too hot for this time of year. Especially here in NC!

I just bought some fabric at Jo-Ann's and fashioned myself a gauze wrap until I could get something more permanent.

Well, this is even in my house where the a/c is on 69. I'm not a warm blooded person usually so it's kind of thrown me off I guess.

cause it's effing miserable hot and humid here in Fayetteville

seriously though, we've been having problems getting too hot in our padded sling, which prompted me to order an unpadded sling, but it hasn't come in the mail yet. trying a lighter weight fabric, and not putting much clothing on baby might help. we had the same problem last summer here when ds was a newborn.

Yeah, the Moby with all its thick layers of fabric is soooo hot! It's great for winter, but too hot for now. Babies are little furnaces, though, and I'm finding babywearing in the summer results in sweating, no matter which wrap I use!
