Andy saw the intact penis and was like WOOOAAH

and nancy said "Oh yeah, gotta get that taken care of"

how is that not too bad?

OH your probably still mad from the "radical homebirther" and " he wants me to have this baby totally off the grid" lines from last week.

ITs Nancy. She doesnt know what the heck she's doing from one moment to the next.. and now that Andy wants to be a dad and be "substantial" in life, he's going all old school and traditional... and it is so endearing.. though I was still holding my breath during the bris part..

I did not see the episode yet, but I did see the preview, which already annoyed me. But I look at it this way, Weeds is a show about a woman who messes up, and makes the wrong choice with every single decision that comes her way. The whole show at this point is "what left does she have to destroy?"

I think showing that when it comes this decision, she decides to circ, is really saying, "look, she made the dumb choice, AGAIN"

I think if this show was trying to further any pro-circ message, they would have her refuse circ and act all crazy about it because of stupid reasons. Then it would be like "Look, Nancy decided not to circ, always making the wrong choice."

So after seeing the full episode, I totally see this as a fair depiction of the issue for the characters.

Like I have seen some shows that also base their story of conflicting characters, but to have an episode relating to circumcision and for once everyone agrees and thinks its good. It always seem unnatural and weird.

In this episode everyone stays in character. The older brother does not seem to care either way, the younger brother calls it barbaric. They also give the whole thing a very meaningless feeling by saying they needed witnesess for the circ, and they just get some random people, and how even the circumciser seems only to care enough about the issue to pay for his new beach house.

Really the only two characters who are for it, have been labeled time and time again in this show as the characters that have made VERY SINGLE wrong decision in their lives.
And under the circumstances, it does seem like the wrong decision, again.

So even though the new baby was circumcised, nothing about really was depicted as a positive thing.

I was not pleased with his episode. And damn it all to hell I lost some of my crush on Andy because of it. Nancy, is just becoming more of an idiot (I can say that here since she's a character and not a real person right?).

The younger brother (I can't remember his name at the moment) was the only one with any sense.

I have removed further religious references. Further UAVs will result in the thread's removal. I am moving this to Television as it seems to be more about the show and plotline. Thanks!

yeah, my heart stopped for a moment! That gave me chills (not the good kind). But then we watched the clips on sho.com for next weeks episode and I felt a lot better.

oh, and about Andy, um, nursing... when I was telling DH, "she's calling him to come relieve her" and he was like, "No way! really?"

I reminded him how uncomfortable being that engorged is... and he said, "yeah but we would just go home and feed the baby!"

That reminded me of a time, at a concert where I had to manually pump a bit in the sink because it wasn't possible to leave for a couple more hours... never occurred to me to ask DH to 'be the baby' man, I was cracking up!

Hah, yeah, that was my dear's comment too, "why didn't they just go home and feed the baby?!" and I was thinking the exact same thing.

Well, she did drink two drinks and she was feeling a bit tipsy. So all in all I wouldn't want her to feed the baby.

That, however, didn't really cross my mind at all.
It was way to funny when Andy "relieved" her to think any such thing.
But when you say it, she did say she was enjoying alcohol for the first time in a long time or summat.

I was disappointed she circ'd the baby (did they HAVE to "show" it?!) because it seemed to be to spite the father. This whole season had been pretty disappointing IMO.

Had to find this thread (I knew there'd be one here!) now that I'm finally all caught up on the episodes-- except tonight's show, I have to watch them all online.

Anyway, despite the circ and the obvious fact that Nancy is not much of an AP parent (not that I'd ever expect her to be!), the last episode focused a lot on her breastfeeding which I thought was pretty cool.
