The TV show "Mental"

I love this new show! Anyway 7/17 episode was about a "girl" who tried to set herself on fire...ended up in the psych ward. Turns out the girl Heather was born a boy, but had a botched circ which caused deformity and other problems and a doc convinced the parents to get some surgery, pump the kid full of hormones and raise the baby as a girl. Needless to say Heather had some identity issues!

Didn't really talk about how circing is bad per se, but all this was because of a botched circumcision.

I read this book MANY years before I had DS. It is something that I thought about often, and definately gave me a different perspective on circ... actually, I don't think I had any kind of perspective before I read that book. It's a good read, and a true story.
