What do you recommend?

I have a baby that does NOT want to be put down. I figure I better embrace the whole babywearing. My other kids didnt' want to be held as much so this is new. I have only ever used ring slings previously and I have 3 zolowear ring slings, but honestly, my neck and back hurt after extended use. I need another option. My baby is 6 weeks and 9 lbs. He is a little guy still, but I can't get anything down and I know he isn't napping as much as he would if I could just hold him more.

at that age we had our baby in a moby wrap all the time.

you may want to look into a chunei. it is a torso carry and provides very good support, causing no strain on the shoulders or back..because baby's weight becomes part of your weight and not hanging ON you..hope this helps.

I think you'd like two shoulder carrier for sure. A wrap is a great choice, since it's sooo versatile. You can do front carries, nurse in the wrap and also learn to do a high back carry. A buckle carrier would work too and has less of a learning curve, as does a mei tai, but they aren't quite as versatile or easy to nurse young babies as a wrap is.

I reccomend a wrap as well. With a little baby like that who still wants to be snuggled a wrap is perfect. As baby gets older you can get more creative with your carries.

If you are willing, definitely get a wrap, but a woven, not a stretchy. If you are stressed out about learning with a woven, maybe try a mei tai or SSC. But a woven is definitely the most versatile.

I would also suggest trying your ring sling again, my lo didn't relly like mine until he was closer to 3 months old and he liked to be carried upright. But make sure the fabric is spread out wide over your shoulder and arcoss your back.
