diapering little boys?

dd has never ever soaked through a cloth diaper, but ds in his 2 weeks of life has already done so half a dozen times! What is it about diapering a boy that I need to know?

I have him in hemp thirsties at night with a cotton flannel doubler covered in a wool soaker + wool longies. He sleeps for 8-10 hours (wakes to feed, but not truly *awake* so I'm reluctant to change him as he's quite upset when I do).

TIA experienced mamas

My only idea is make sure u point his penis down when putting the diaper on if your not already. Is the whole diaper soaked if so more absorbancy is needed otherwise I cant think of anything hopefully someone has better ideas lol good luck

Point his penis down so the coverage is where he'll pee. Otherwise you may just need more absorbency. He could be a heavy wetter.

I agree with both PP. It might not be a boy thing, just the difference between babies. Sometimes I fold the doubler up in the front more to catch more. Definitely make sure he is pointing down.

Does your wool need lanolizing? Worth asking.

penis down and wool well lanolinized.
Guess he's just a heavy wetter!
