How early are you seeing your Midwife/OB? - Page 2

I just called the birth center in chapel hill, nc, and they said they typically see people between 10-12 weeks, but that if I had lots of questions or concerns that they could see me earlier. I also have to go for a tour first.

One of my best friends ever works there! I think you'll love it.

I went there for my pap a few months ago, I really liked them a lot!

I've put the call into my midwives and they've put me on the list for April. I had to get them to order my betas too because my peri is out of town. I don't expect to see them for a while though. I've BTDT so many times and I'm doing dual care, so my peri will order my early tests, I suspect.

In the past I've seen them as early as 6wks.

Going for my first at 7 weeks.

I am a midwife and I have a midwife partner. With my last baby it was different because I was not yet a midwife. So, it is kind of odd to be on this side of things. I have my own office where I do prenatal appointments with my clients so I am not sure if I will do my own prenatals or if I will have my partner do them. Kind of odd to do them myself.

Oh, wow, IDK. I need to ask around among my doula friends and see who they like as far as lay MWs around here go. So I haven't thought about that stuff yet. My plan is at about 12 weeks - and, wow, that would be early October.

I called the birth center yesterday and they set me up for an appointment on August 19 -- I'll be 8 weeks. Seems early, but maybe it's to get a bunch of the new patient paperwork out of the way.

rollergirl and jenfl, i remember you guys from the one thread. jenfl, the threadkeeper luck rubbed off on me too! :

just got my bfp at 15dpo wednesday, ok, and another one yesterday

i'm a freak who interviewed midwives before i was ever pregnant, and chose a team of two. one of them encouraged me through my early m/c in may, and i'm going to call her today, at 4 1/2 weeks.

i think it's a great idea to get on midwive's list for your due time. they may book up! i'm not sure when they will advise on first appointment, but i'm pretty sure they told me 12 weeks when i interviewed them. they are flexible though, so i may ask for an earlier one... i'd offer to increase their payment of course....not sure yet... feedback?

I haven't even called her yet, but I think with the last 2, it was about 12 weeks for my 1st appt.

I called today, and I'm glad I did. I have my first appointment on August 31, at 9 weeks....the next available appointment wasn't until October! Granted I am going with an extremely popular midwife practice, but geez.

So to anyone who hasn't called yet, I agree with previous posters that you need to squeeze yourself in before they book up and aren't accepting new clients.

I will be calling my midwife on Monday. I'll probably get seen sometime in September... probably between 8-10 weeks. I think that's about what I was last time
