question for GA mommies

Thread Starter
We just moved from intown to N Ga and I am trying to register my boys for school. We stopped vac with ds3 and had just signed an religious exemption form for our old school. The new school requires that I meet with a nurse before they will register him. I am a bit nervous. What will they ask, will I have to 'prove' anything (religion)? Any info would be appreciated. My 'meeting' is Aug 4th.
TIA,
k

what school? GA law says...

Quote:
This Code section shall not apply to a child whose parent or legal guardian objects to immunization of the child on the grounds that the immunization conflicts with the religious beliefs of the parent or guardian; however, the immunization may be required in cases when such disease is in epidemic stages. For a child to be exempt from immunization on religious grounds, the parent or guardian must first furnish the responsible official of the school or facility an affidavit in which the parent or guardian swears or affirms that the immunization required conflicts with the religious beliefs of the parent or guardian.
You are not required to provide more information.

Go to the meeting. Hand them your exemption. For any question they ask simply reply:

"Vaccination is against my sincerely held religious beliefs"

Repeat as needed.

If they say they require any additional information, request that they put the request in writing (along with the statute that requires it) and you'll be happy to discuss their request with your attorney.

No worries there though...they will not put anything in writing and they will not have a statute to back them up.

Good luck mama
